Happy Monday guys,
I was on the hunt for a new foundation as it was time to replenish the stock. I don’t know about you but i like to do my research on most products before i take the plunge especially if it comes with a hefty price tag! Now this foundation has gotten about 4.5 stars, and was talked about as being one of the best on the market, suitable for oily skin, so naturally i would want to test it out for myself. Before i jump into what i think, here is the description provided by Beauty Bay. Might i add this foundation isn’t new, it has been around for sometime now.
“Cover Fx natural finish oil free foundation is a water based, liquid foundation that provides hydration, and you can achieve sheer to full coverage. It is designed to give a natural looking, soft finish and provides buildable, long wearing coverage. It is deeply moisturising, paraben, fragrance, mineral oil and talc free. It is suitable for all skin types.”
Whilst the description might be true, this foundation did absolutely nothing for my skin! I wore it one afternoon and i wasn’t very impressed. Let me add this shade was a little too dark for me, but that didn’t bother me one bit, that can be adjusted.
Wonderful coverage- As little or as much needed
Wasn’t heavy on the skin
Not too thick of a consistency
Wide range of shades
Made me very oily, a few hours wearing it, i looked like i was dipped in fat! haha
Has an unpleasant smell
I know what you’re thinking, the pros outweigh the cons, that is true but for me, once a product claims to be great for oily skin and it really isn’t, all bets are off! I thought to myself, maybe i needed a better primer, so that is what i’ll do next. I won’t throw this foundation out, it was too expensive, at a price of £34, i’m going to make it work some way, somehow.
You might not be able to see that it is slightly darker, but i assure you it is, great lighting makes everything better, haha. The coverage is super and doesn’t feel cakey or heavy.
In conclusion, i think it would’ve been an awesome foundation, if it hadn’t made me so oily, everything else, except for the scent was great! I suppose if you have combination or normal skin this would work. Let me know what you guys think. Have you tried this foundation before?
